Assignment ObjectivesThe primary goal of this assignment is for you to develop and defend your own code of ethics by using one of the models for ethics examined in the course text.
Assignment Description and RequirementsIn a 6 page typed, double-spaced paper, you are to describe and defend your code of ethics. Everyone has certain ethical standards, which they endeavor (sometimes successfully, sometimes not), to use as constructive guides for living.What are your ethical commitments? Ethical commitments can be negative prohibitions (“thou shall not…”) or positive declarations (‘Thou must…”). In order to support your code of ethics you must provide a description of one of the following models/approaches for ethics which are outlined in the course text:Virtue ethics, Deontological ethics, Situational ethics, Utilitarianism,Egalitarianism, Dialogical ethics, Feminist theories of ethics, and CulturalRelativism. Whichever model you choose, you will need to describe the model and its key terms, explain how the model works, and address its strengths and weaknesses. Apply the model of ethics you have chosen to your life. Suggest how the model would guide you to take ethical action in response to a particular ethical dilemma that has occurred in your life.
Research is required. Five source citations are required, which may include our course textbook. APA style is required throughout the paper, including a proper title page and reference page.
Your paper will be evaluated based on fulfillment of the preceding content areas, as well as aspects of college level writing (including spelling, grammar, punctuation, APA style, editing, form and presentation). Be sure to take the time and care necessary to produce your best possible work. Carefully proofread your paper prior to submitting it.
