Length: 500-550 words. Examine how power, status, and influence operate as organizational dynamics in your own workplace environment. Take some time to think about where you fit in an organization with respect to these dynamics, and answer the following questions. Reference style For online materials from outside of the course: Use author-date format as above, but include the source URL as a hyperlink attached to the title of the source. No bibliography entry is required. The original series often told stories developed from recent current events and reflects the attitudes of 1960’s culture (Bailey, “Plagiarism in Pop Culture,” 2017). Note that in this example, the “title” of the article is added (with hyperlink) after the author’s name. For other non-online materials from outside the course (e.g., books, hardcopy media, other situations): Use author-date format as above, and include a full citation per AU-1, Appendix B, in the selected bibliography. Gerrold (2014) believes Star Trek is a “set of fables…set against a science fiction background” (38) reflecting the “attitudes of contemporary America” (39). While the original crew of the starship Enterprise reflected the ideals of mid-20th Century America, modern Star Trek reflects characters that are deeply flawed (Gerrold 2014, 38; Stowe, “Picard is Great Because it does what Other Star Trek Shows Never Could,” 2020). What are your goals with respect to power, status, and influence for the next five years of your career? For the next 10 years? What positions would you like to attain and what would you like to accomplish along the way? How has learning about power, status, and influence processes shaped your professional goals? What values would you like to adhere to in attaining these positions? Do you anticipate encountering any ethical dilemmas when applying your knowledge of these processes strategically to attain goals and increase leadership effectiveness? If so, please explain.
