Get essay writing assistance for your research essay Create a list of jobs/careers in a particular field since a focus of the early and middle adult years is working.
This assignment focuses on Chapters 11 and 12 (adulthood). One of the major tasks during this stage of life is finding a career, so for this particular assignment you will create a list of career opportunities in one area of employment (health care—be specific as possible here, business, education, etc.). You will create this list using a credible and valid source (books, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, governmental institutions, research companies, etc.). Once you find the source and the list of career opportunities, you will answer questions about them below.
What are credible and valid sources? They can be books, pamphlets, Internet sites, or organizations of which you are aware. If you use an Internet source, try to stick with .edu, .gov, or .org sites. These are going to be more credible than many .com sites. Blogs and listserves can probably be credible; it just depends on who maintains them and who posts on them. I would stay away from Wikis – there are enough other sources that are credible. Part of your grade is based on the credibility of the source, so choose wisely. There are plenty of good sources out there, so don’t just pick the first ones that appear in your search results. Pick a source you would trust. The credibility of the source is a very important part of this assignment so choose wisely.DO NOT, under any circumstance, copy information from a source’s website or other materials. If you directly copy information from your source, you will plagiarize, and therefore fail this entire assignment. DO NOT use direct quotes since you are only writing a few sentences. Summarize the information using your own words. I will know if you have plagiarized because you have provided the URL.
Questions to Answer: Provide the following information about your credible source. Please number and put a space between each answer. Points will be deducted if you do not follow the formatting guidelines.1. Name of the source and a link to it: When providing a URL, you MUST provide a very specific link – a link that takes you directly to the page you are referencing. For example, you can’t just provide the link for Kidshealth.org; you have to provide a link to the page within this site that contains the information you are using. (4 points – 1 point for the name and 3 points for the link. Please double-check your link. If it does not work when I check it, you will be asked to provide another link. I will deduct 3 points if I have to do this. Also make sure you provide a specific enough link – it should go directly to the page you are referencing – not just a site’s home page) 2. Brief description of the source in your own words: This is not the list of career opportunities – it’s a summary of this source itself. (5 points)
3. The area of employment and the career opportunities this source suggests (this can be a bulleted list): Provide a brief summary of careers if needed. Make sure you include enough information for 10 points. (10 points)
4. A rationale for why this source is a credible one (4-6 sentences). Is it based on research? Is it a governmental source that is based on statistics? This is an important question and is worth 6 points (more than a-c), so provide more information here. (6 points)
5. APA citation of this source: This part is worth 4 points toward the overall grade on the assignment. You must attempt this question to earn any points on the entire assignment. In other words, if you leave this part blank, you will earn zero points on the whole assignment.Where can you find current APA style?http://library.hfcc.edu/citation-guide (there are LOTS of links from here—OWL is a good one)http://www.umuc.edu/library/libhow/apa_examples.cfm#books6. Describe the two most important ideas you learned from this assignment. Write one paragraph per idea and be as specific as possible to earn all 6 points. (6 points)
5. Pay attention to point values per question. The more points a question is worth, the more information you should provide for that question.
6. Number each question and put a space between each question.
7. Pay attention to mechanics (spelling, punctuation, capitalization (especially “I” and the first word of each sentence), spacing between words, etc.). You will lose one (1) point per error after the first two errors. It is important you write professionally and proofread your work before submitting it.
8. You must complete two assignments during the semester – one during the first half and other during the second half. You can choose which assignment you complete for each group, however, you cannot complete the same type of assignment twice (you cannot complete an interview for each age group).
9. Where applicable, cite your source(s) using APA format.
