Vision, Mission, Values and Practices

Prior to beginning work on this assignent, read Chapters 3 and 4 of your Kotter et al. (2021) course text, review the The Difference Between Vision, Mission, Strategy and Core Values (Links to an external site.) video, the Knowledge Management as a Business Strategy of a Learning Organisation (Links to an external site.) article, and the Want a Successful Business? Build an Effective Strategy (Links to an external site.) article.
This week you will work again with the case study from the Week 6 assignment. For this assignment, assume Mr. Chan has asked for your help in creating vision, mission, values, and business practice statements for HCSC. You will draft these statements. You will then create a report explaining to Chan why you believe these statements are appropriate for his organization given the changes he will need to make.
In a paper of at least 1,250 words (excluding title, abstract, and reference pages) and citing at least two scholarly sources in addition to required readings,
- Create vision, mission, values, and business practice statements for HCSC.
- Explain the relevance of vision, mission, values, and business practice statements in establishing the culture of an organization.
- Describe how these statements should be constructed, who should develop them, and how organizational leaders should disseminate these kinds of statements to employees.
- Analyze what can happen if leaders and managers act in ways that are incongruent with the published vision, mission, values, or business practices statements
- Identify the issues that need to be addressed in developing new vision, mission, values, and business practices statements for HCSC.
The Vision, Mission, Values, and Practices paper
- Must be at least 1,250 words in length (not including title, abstract, and references pages) and formatted according to APA Style (Links to an external site.) as outlined in the Writing Center’s APA Formatting for Microsoft Word (Links to an external site.).
- Must include a separate title page with the following:
- Title of page in bold font
- Space should appear between the title and the rest of the information on the title page.
- Student’s name
- Name of institution (The University of Arizona Global Campus)
- Course name and number
- Instructor’s name
- Due date
- Title of page in bold font
- Must utilize academic voice. See the Academic Voice (Links to an external site.) resource for additional guidance.
- Must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph. Your introduction paragraph needs to end with a clear thesis statement that indicates the purpose of your paper.

- Must use at least two scholarly sources in addition to required readings.

If you have questions about whether a specific source is appropriate for this assignment, please contact your instructor. Your instructor has the final say about the appropriateness of a specific source.
