Assignment #2:Personal Identity Paper
Purpose The purpose of this assignment is for students to reflect on their personal identity and reflect on how this identity frames their professional goals and aspirations. Individuals who have a strong sense of personal identity can challenge their personal biases, weather adversity, engage in self-acceptance, and engage in personal growth.
General Assignment Requirements This is not a formal paper and does not require APA formatting. It should, however, be written in a clear and concise manner, be high quality, and demonstrate thoughtful reflection.
Specific Assignment Instructions
Step 1:Take the following personality test and identity inventories:
1: Myers-Briggs Personality Inventory (MBPI): Indicates differing psychological preferences and gives clues to how someone perceives the world around them. 2. Rosenburg Self-Esteem Scale: Attached to the end of the assignment instructions. Rosenburg SES has high test re-test reliability and tends to be an accurate measure of self-esteem. Scores below 15 points indicate low self-esteem and over 25 as high self-esteem.
3. ACEs Inventory: Attached at to the end of the assignment instructions. Higher Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) scores indicate higher chances of having lingering difficulty with trauma in adulthood High ACEs scores have been shown to have an influence on health challenges but, when properly identified, trauma can be recovered from
4. Strength-Finders: Use the individualized code you have been given by the professor. Strength-finders is not free so you MUST use the code and follow the instructions to take the Strength-finders test. This test will rank you on your top five (out of 34) strengths and let you know how you can use these strengths to best engage your future.
Step 2:Reflect on what you have learned from the tests and inventories that you have taken.
Step 3: Write the reflection paper. (About 3-5 pages)
