Strategic human resource management (HRM) involves establishing fair, legally sound, and effective performance management and employee compensation systems. Performance management involves the methods organizations employ to appraise, improve, motivate, and maintain employee work and activities. Effective performance management systems ensure employees and teams work optimally and productively. They are critical to overall organizational success. Sensitivity towards fairness, as well as ethical and legal requirements, is important when making decisions about both performance management, as well as employee compensation.
For this assignment, you will develop a performance appraisal system and write a 3–5 page paper summarizing and analyzing the system. You may base the performance appraisal system on a job of your choice.
