Assignment 2: DiSC Assessment Reflection Due Week 5and worth 100 points. Instructions: Use your Everything DiSC Management Profile Assessment results to identify your DiSC management style and answer the questions below. Remember, this is a reflection of your personality and strengths, so there are no “right” answers. Just be sure to answer the questions honestly and thoughtfully. DiSC STYLE: __i_________ 1. Give a brief summary of what your style says about your management personality style. (Page 4 of your report.) My personality assessment indicates that I have i personality style as my primary style and D as my secondary personality style. My D style was characterized by my ability to make quick decisions and assertive behavior, especially when working with team members. I also found that I am confident and adventurous, as depicted in my previous history of traveling and actions. On the other hand, the i personality style was evident from my ability to influence others and optimism. I also realized that enthusiasm and I love motivating others. I am creative. I love new ideas and enjoy change. 2. Did your results surprise you? Explain why or why not. I have always known myself as a very influential person, but I never know that I Dominance (D) personality style. I am working as a cashier in a supermarket, and I interact with many customers. I always record more sales than others, which is due to my i personality style. I enjoy working in a team, and I am very enthusiastic. I have convinced many customers to buy our products, and this makes my boss consider me a major asset in the business. I was not surprised to realize that my primary personality style was influenced i personality style. However, I was surprised to learn that I have a Dominance D personality style. 3. Go to Page 5 of your report. Identify your “priorities,” and write them in the space below. (These are the areas where you focus most of your energy.) Motivating others: several workmates are approaching me for advice, and I have realized that whenever I talked to someone, they become better. Optimistic: whatever we are doing as a team, I believe that it must succeed, or it must have an impact on the team. Enthusiastic: I control a large customer base than others Creative: i love researching new ideas and apply them in my job Confident: I am more positive and always ready to make decisions. 4. Describe two (2) situations where one or more of your “priorities” have helped you accomplish a task and/or helped you to be effective when working with others. First scenario: our system manager was undergoing difficult times, and he was about to resign from his work. His decision was going to affect the operations because we did not have an immediate replacement. I decided to talk to him and am glad he listened, and we were able to finish the work. (Influential) Second scenario: I was about to be laid-off when the pandemic erupted. My organization wanted to reduce the number of its employees to remain operations. By being creative and enthusiastic, I mobilized all the employees and dealt with them to allow the organization to use the salary cut instead of firing employees. The management welcomed this decision, and no employee was laid off. 5. Locate the list of motivators and stressors on Page 6 of your report. Choose three (3) of motivators and three (3) of stressors that you most identify with. In the space below, write down why you chose these motivators and stressors and explain how you’ve experienced them before. Motivators: honesty, teamwork, respect, and commitment, passion Stressors: being aggressive, being short-tempered, having low self-esteem, regrets My career requires a high level of honesty and transparency. My honesty and transparency level motivates me to work and serve my customers with a high level of accountability. I am also motivated by the fact that I have a passion for my work and am highly committed to achieving my dreams. Working in a team also makes me learn more and motivates me to remain working hard. On the other hand, I have weaknesses in making decisions due to short temperedness, and I also violent. I also regret a lot after making the wrong decisions. 6. Locate the list of your strengths and challenges as they relate to directing and delegating. (Page 7 of your report.) Identify the three (3) strengths and three (3) challenges that you identify with the most. Explain why you chose those strengths and challenges below. Strengths: working with others, helping others, feeling for others problem solving Weaknesses: time management, arguing a lot, poor in communication, aggressive My strongest strength lies on helping others especially those who are in need and accepting others the way they are. I feel for others through identifying with their problems and situations and find solution for their problems. however, I have a weakness in controlling my anger especially when one goes against my personalities. I also have a problem in communication and listening to other people’s views. I am a poor time manager and this is evident for not keeping time when reporting to work and planning my work. 7. After watching the Strayer Story: Discovering Your Purpose: Strengths and Personality and reading more about your DiSC management style, identify three (3) jobs/careers that you believe would align well with your personality. Use the list of occupations in this week’s “Coach’s Huddle” to help you narrow down your choices. Briefly explain why you feel as though your personality would be a good match for these jobs/careers. Business manager, marketing, sales urgent. My personality style assessment reveals that my primary personality style is influence i, and my secondary personality style is Dominance D. based on these results, and given that I am working as a cashier at the supermarket, career that align with my personalities are business manager, marketing, and sales urgent. Marketing, sales, urgent, and business manager are career opportunities that involve influencing customers. It is the same as being a cashier because all require a high enthusiasm and creativity level.
