Assignment Instructions/ Description
3-2 Simulation Team Debriefing: Round Two My Home INT-422-J3800 International Strategic Mgmt This is a group activity. For more information on groups, please see About Group Work. For this debriefing, you will meet with a team of your peers to discuss your simulation experience. Check the Announcements area to find out what team you are on. You will continue with the same team for the rest of the course. Click the above link to access the team discussion topic area. To complete this assignment, review the Simulation Team Debriefing Guidelines and Rubric PDF document. Having completed the second round of the GlobalDNA simulation, you will now work with a team to debrief your simulation experience. This will give you the opportunity to compare and contrast decision-making strategies. You are encouraged to join your team as early in the week as possible. You do not need to wait until your simulation is complete. You must join your team no later than Thursday. Use the following guiding questions for your debriefing: What role, if any, did import tariffs and subsidies play in your decisions in this round? How did this affect your decisions? What role, if any, did distribution play in your decisions in this round? How did this affect your decisions? Although the simulation does not give you an opportunity for a merger or acquisition, consider them as possible strategies. Based on the current GlobalDNA company structure, would you consider a merger or acquisition? If so, what company might you acquire or merge with to expand GlobalDNA’s current business? If not, explain your reasoning. Do you think merging with a partner in another country is a good practice? Why or why not? Explain the benefits and risks of this practice. Engage your teammates in a lively discussion about the simulation and their responses to the questions above. Where do you differ in your approaches and decisions? Do you agree or disagree with their ideas on tariffs, distribution, and mergers and acquisitions? Explain why. What can you learn from your teammates? Feel free to share and compare your debrief reports (available in the simulation at the end of each round) in the spirit of exploring what worked and what did not. Note: If your team would prefer to meet for an hour in a chat room for real-time interaction, you are encouraged to do so as long as the following conditions are met: All members of your team must agree upon a time and place. All members of the team must have access to a free chat room. For example, you could set up a group Skype chat. You must post to the team discussion thread a record of your chat that identifies each member’s contribution.
