Assignment Instructions/ Description
Discussion: Explain Your Brain Assignment and Group Discussion
Your job at school is to learn thought and work habits that ensure you will get the right answer when there is nobody around to check you. And part of that is exposing your process so that problems can be corrected.

Working With Groups at a Distance
Access your team's problem set by referring to the Announcement posted by your Instructor.
By Day 2
Work on your problems and submit your Solutions DRAFT to this Discussion forum.
Open up this week's problem set template, complete your work on your two problems, and save the first draft of your solutions as a ".doc" or ".rtf" file. Be sure to write down any questions you may have as you attempt to solve the problem.
Tip: You may want to use paper and pencil to work on your solution prior to working in the problem set document. Many people find that they can work more fluidly on paper because they do not need to concentrate on the mechanics of entering the information as they solve the problem. Additionally, writing on paper can help you to organize your answer, making your entry in the Word template more efficient.
Questions to help organize your thinking as you go through each problem:
Do I understand the problem?
Do I show every calculation that needs to be made to reach the solution? (There are no unexplained, "magical" results.)
Do I have detailed explanation for each calculation? Do I use the correct vocabulary words and concepts in describing my calculations?
Is my work thorough and easy to follow?
Do I answer all parts of the questions being asked?
Submit your Solutions DRAFT to this Discussion board.
Submit your Explain Your Brain Solutions DRAFT to this Group Discussion board. In the text of your Group Discussion post, share any difficulties you may have had, ask a question to clarify how to complete your work, or share something you learned while working on your problems. Be specific when asking for help about how to do your problems.
By Day 4
Respond to your teammates.
Read and respond to at least two of your group members' draft solutions, addressing any difficulties they may have had and providing help with completing their problem as completely and correctly as possible. Be as clear as possible in your response.
By Day 7
Complete and submit your Solutions FINAL.
