Assignment Instructions/ Description
In order to complete this task, you will access the link in the study plan to watch 12 videos from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) Video Observation Program. It is your choice as to which 12 videos you choose to focus on for this task, as they relate to Classroom Environment and Management. After viewing each of the 12 videos for this task, remember to complete the Video Log. Respond to the prompts below by writing a narrative.
Note: The Video Log will be submitted once as part of the final task (task 5) and will require a submission for all 60 videos you have viewed from tasks 1-5.
Requirements:
Note: You may use more than one video on Classroom Environment and Management to respond to the following.
A. Reflect on the videos related to Classroom Environment and Management by doing the following:
1. Discuss two ways the teacher manages student behavior, including how the teacher redirects misbehavior.
2. Discuss how effectively the teacher manages class time (e.g., Are disruptions minimized? Do students know what to do? How much time is spent in transitions? Are materials ready when needed?).
3. Identify one video related to demonstrating interest in students’ work.
a. Discuss one way students demonstrate they are actively engaged in their work.
b. Discuss one way the teacher encourages students to engage in classroom discourse using appropriate academic language.
4. Identify one video that had a highly effective classroom environment.
a. Discuss the elements that support your position regarding a highly effective classroom environment.
5. Identify one video in which improvements could be made to the classroom environment.
a. Discuss the elements that support your position regarding classroom environment improvements.
B. When you use sources, include all in-text citations and references in APA format.

Note: When using sources to support ideas and elements in an assessment, the submission MUST include APA formatted in-text citations with a corresponding reference list for any direct quotes or paraphrasing.
